I took delivery of my diesel tt at the middle of July, and completely chuffed! Prior to the TT had a 54 reg A4 tdi with sports suspension. The ride (with optional magnetics) is superb, with sport selected is certainly good enough for me (average bloke), and with it switched off is far more comfortable then my old A4.
Test drove a couple of other cars prior to choosing TT, including a BMW 123d coupe. I am aware of the dealership friendly rivalry between Audi & BMW, but the BMW was an excellent car too. The 123d was quicker and handled better, however I stopped riding motorbikes because it was so easy to drive so fast without realising! The 123d isn't quite like a bike but I found it very easy to hit 3 figures, and it felt nothing like the ton. The handling was faultless too. Inside the TT's quality is superior. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I don't know anyone that considers the 123d better looking.
I decided at the end of the day that which would be the most comfortable for 20k a year, which looks the better. If I was younger and wanted to blast everywhere the BMW would have won, perhaps.
