Pauldalg's Application of Penalties thread wandered into an interesting question....
Who should be the next FIA President?
I like Ubizzle's suggestion of Pat Symonds, he seems like a fairly decent bloke, but I think my options would be....
1. Damon Hill - Outside of being a stand-up gent he's also been a mature, level-headed F1 world champ. He's obviously very smart and and I think his clean cut image would help motoring and motorsport generally. I would worry about him getting pushed around by Bernie though.
2. Sutters - He's done a bit of racing so so has a good picture about what's important in that area but also, being an Autocar Mag supremo, has a very good picture on motoring generally. Can't see Bernie bullying him either, even with all his henchmen.
PS. Sutters and Chris Hoy - never seen in the same room together at the same time. Noted. Congrats on your 3 golds in the Beijing Velodrome, Sutters!
