Our spy photographers have captured more pics of McLaren’s amazing SLR Speedster being tested, this time at the Nurburgring in Germany.

The pictures show off the Speedster’s strange proportions, it does without both a windscreen and a roof, and makes extensive use of carbonfibre. Mercedes insiders have also hinted that the production car will do without air conditioning and will come with ceramic brakes and a track-derived exhaust system. It will be 200kg lighter than the SLR coupe and capable of accelerating from rest to 186mph (300km/h) in just 26 seconds – with a top speed of 218mph.

Only 75 Speedsters will be built, and it will make its debut at the 2009 Detroit motor show next January. It’s will also be the last car developed by the McLaren-Mercedes partnership, with the two companies now looking to build new super-fast models in opposition to each other.
