A record number of Subaru Imprezas will gather at Prodrive’s HQ next Saturday to pay tribute to the late Colin McRae.

Initially, a small convoy of Imprezas, lead by McRae’s 1995 Championship-winning WRC car, will depart from his hometown of Lanark this Saturday and travel down to Prodrive’s HQ in Banbury.

Organisers of the McRae Gathering expect over 1000 Imprezas to attend and they hope to set a new record for the number of Imprezas in a parade on Prodrive’s test track.

After the procession, the cars will be arranged to spell out Colin McRae’s name.

Prodrive chairman David Richards said, “I can not think of a more fitting tribute to Colin than a gathering of so many Subarus, a car for which he did so much to make as popular as it is today.”

Entry to the event is £10, with proceeds going to Colin McRae’s nominated charities. More information can be found at www.mcrae-gathering.co.uk.
