The current Ford Fiesta’s got less than a year left before its all-new Verve-based replacement arrives, and in a move designed to inspire a few extra registrations, Ford is throwing some extra equipment at it and knocking down the price.

The Fiesta Zetec Blue special edition is based on the Style Climate model, and though it costs £200 more, gets a generous £800 of extra kit. You get body-coloured bumpers, doorhandles, mirrors and mouldings, front fog lights, a rear spoiler, a leather steering wheel, a Sony CD player, 16in alloy wheels, heated electric door mirrors, air conditioning and a heated windscreen on your Zetec Blue, as well as the blue dash and seat trim that gives the special edition its name.

The car is available now with a choice 1.25- and 1.4-litre petrol or 1.4-litre diesel power, and from £9995.
