Quirky British car manufacturer Bristol is celebrating its 60th birthday in 2006 with typically mild revisions to its line-up.
The firm, formed immediately after World War II as a division of the Bristol Aeroplane Company, has expanded its range from one model to three over the last five years. For 2006, it will continue to produce the Blenheim 3, the aluminium-bodied two-door saloon with a 5.9-litre V8 engine, and the Figher, the two-door sportscar with a claimed maximum speed of 240mph.
The Blenheim Speedster model, meanwhile, gets a new 5.7-litre HEMI V8 powerplant producing 370bhp and a five-speed automatic gearbox.
Bristol does not release sales or production figures, but it claims that a buoyant right-hand drive market has forced it to delay export production.
