Road Test

Seat Ibiza 1.2 12v 3dr

Test Date 20 April 2006  Price When New £7,595

Verdict

 6 stars out of 10

Seat may not have as strong an image as VW, but if you’re looking for a small, three door hatch from the VW family, it seems to us that the Seat has all the advantages. It’s considerably cheaper, better equipped and, to these eyes at least, substantially more attractive. It’s not close to being the best car in the class, but its combination of value and ability left us impressed, particularly as we understand that anyone in a mood for a good haggle will be able to secure one for under £7,000. At that price it’s not just a good car, it’s a bargain.
