Lotus Esprit

The Esprit is the latest of the new generation of cars designed to move Lotus away from the ‘kit car’ image and into the serious sports car market. The Elite and Eclat have done much to this end, but it is on the Esprit that Lotus’s hopes are pinned. Compared with its mid-engined predecessor, the Europa, the Esprit is a big step towards the Porsche/Ferrari/ Maserati market.
